With more and more people being diagnosed with a mental health condition each year it is becoming more apparent that awareness is needed. This is why Active IQ have developed a course where you can learn about specific mental health conditions, help reduce the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health and encourage friends, family and colleagues to talk to you about their mental health. The course also covers how to become a mental health first aider. This means you will be able to notice the signs and help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.
Who is the course for?

Part 2: Identifying the main signs and symptoms of common mental health disorders. As well as identifying common treatments and interventions and describing main risk factors associated with mental health.
Part 3: Understanding the support and advice available for mental health. Identifying credible sources of information, support, guidance, organisations. You will also be able to identify appropriate responses for someone who needs support.
Part 4: Recognise and respond to the signs of mental ill health in themselves and others. This will include providing initial help to someone in crisis and how to escalate a situation where someone may be at risk of harm to themselves or others.
What mental health conditions will be covered?
